LG OLED ultra HD tv

Current TV is a Panasonic, happy but the LG picture knocked our socks off. Panasonic will be relegated to the spare room.
55" and £1k feels about right.
I'd like to be able to dispense with current PVR and sound base but not a deal breaker if I can't.

Wait for the new Samsung QD-OLEDs - they're nearly here...

OLED-level blacks and colours but much higher brightness. Reviews say they're a game-changer.
£2400 is quite pricey though. https://www.samsung.com/uk/tvs/oled-tv/s95b-55-inc...

It's probably worth pointing out that there are two versions being linked here C Series and A Series. The A Series usually has the short legs whilst the C Series has the long flat base.
Tests show that the C Series has a better picture but I guess you would be very hard pressed to tell the difference in the real world. I also believe the internal speaker is much better on the C Series.
Funnily enough the base is important, I may just get away with a 'c' series, 'a' series is too wide, the b series base is the narrowest therefore (in terms of siting) perfect.Tests show that the C Series has a better picture but I guess you would be very hard pressed to tell the difference in the real world. Anyone know what the sound is like on the 'b' s?
Popped into curry's impressed with sound and picture on LG C1 55 @1099
Budget creep to the 2022my c2 though. Its £1899, less £200 cashback and curry's are offering an additional £100 off so essentially £500 more.
Is it worth an extra £500? I really don't know.
ETA I notice John Lewis offering a full 5 yr warranty too, not just the panel.

Got it, jolly good too.
Nice picture and sound, C2 has a tidier stand than the C1, old sound base is redundant, plenty of apps to play with. Not sure its worth the money but its ok. A bit like John Travolta on sampling Uma's 5 dollar shake.
Menus aren't intuitive, so a bit of a pain with recordings, and cant work out how to set up a freeview favorites list. Probably get it all worked out in time.
