I've currently got a small Logitech bluetooth receiver in the garage, hooked up to a Denon M38. I stream podcasts etc from my phone when I'm running on the treadmill there, and I need the volume on the Denon and my phone up to the max to hear them properly - and even then, I'd like it to go a bit louder.

I've also got an old NAD C340 amp with some Acoustic Energy Aegis floorstanders doing nothing - will they give me higher volume if I hookup the bluetooth receiver to them, or is there a specific bluetooth receiver that will give me more volume?

I'm not after perfect sound quality, it's a garage with cars and stuff in it. But I'd like for it to go a bit louder so I can hear when I'm on the treadmill

It's right behind me, maybe 1-2m away. It goes plenty loud enough when playing a CD etc, would just like it a bit louder so I can hear speech over the treadmill.

I just assumed it was the bluetooth receiver that was the limitation when I know it can go loud enough with music

I think the volume can be reduced in several places.
The phone has an overall volume control.
There may be another setting for BT volume on the phone.
Then BT receivers may have a volume control
I've got the phone at full volume, as well as the Denon. It goes plenty loud enough when there's no background noise, but a bit more over the top of the treadmill would be appreciated - not a huge amount, just a bit more
