After discussions with the organisers, a large display area has been allocated for the TVRCC at the Northumbria Classic and Sportscar Show at their new venue of Bywell, between Hexham and Newcastle.

Last year this popular show was held at Corbridge but space was becoming at a premium due to the popularity of the event, so a move to the site used for the Northumbria County Show has allowed far more room as well as easier access and egress.

I am hopeful that we can encourage a good turnout of TVRS on Sunday 1st July 2018, and we are planning an optional supporting programme starting with a couple of scenic group driving routes to arrive in the area on Thurs 28th June, one approaching from the north, and one from the south.
The next day, Friday 29th June, we will be touring on some more of the lovely roads around Northumbria, or you can do your own thing and explore beautiful Durham or maybe visit Holy Island.

On Saturday 30th June, we plan a group visit to the amazing Beamish Living Museum. This is a truly remarkable place with something of interest for everyone to enjoy. It is hoped we can display our TVRs in a specially allocated parking area at the Museum.
A full day visit is planned, but even then it will be difficult to see everything at Beamish. The site covers a huge area and various periods are always being re-enacted, you will feel transported back in time.

On Sunday 1st July we hope to see as many models of TVR as possible at the Bywell Show.
A special part of the TVR display area we will be holding our annual 'S' Club Heaven event, so we are hoping all you S Series owners from Scotland and the North of England will be able to attend and support us.

Accommodation in the area sells out very quickly in the area, so early booking is advisable. Actually, it is essential!

For the hardy types, we have provisionally reserved camping pitches at Bobby Shafto Caravan and Camping Park which is very close to Beamish. All or any nights from Thurs 28th June to Sunday 1st July are currently available to us at a discounted rate at time of writing.

Information here:
info@bobbyshaftocaravanpark.co.uk

When booking, quote reference 'TVRCC'.

A non refundable deposit of one night's stay will secure your pitch. We recommend that you book asap.
MIMO.

For those who prefer their comforts, there are many hotels in the Durham/ Newcastle/ Washington area, but again, places fill up very quickly, so it's important that you book asap to ensure your accommodation.

For budget accommodation, the Premier Inn, Emerson Road, Washington is recommended.

Other reasonably priced Premier Inns and Travel Lodges are available in and around Newcastle and near the beautiful city of Durham.

4 Star hotels include the Best Western Beamish Hall Country House Hotel,
or Beamish Park Hotel at Marley Hill.

Hope you can all come and join in what promises to be a fun event in this lovely part of Britain.

We shall update with further details as they become available.

If you wish to attend any part or all of this programme, please book your accommodation forthwith and then add your names to the list on the TVRCC or PH TVR 'S' Series forum so that we may assess likely numbers.

Thankyou from the organisers:
Glenrobbo, Alan461 & Magpies.

Hi Fergus,

This year's Show will be held at Bywell on Sunday 1st July 2018 as stated, but is still in the detail planning stage by the organisers, MG Northumbria Car Club.

We are in close contact with them and our TVR area is assured. We will be posting further details as and when they are confirmed, keep an eye on here, or check out the S Series forum on here and the TVRCC forum, where people are registering their interest and confirming their accomodation. I am optimistic that we can attract around 90 TVRs of all models.
Lots of interest so far. smile Hope you and your T350i can join us, as well as your friends and family. Non TVRs should register with the Show organisers when the entries list is open in a few weeks time.

Meanwhile, to give you an idea, here is a link to the popular 2017 show, which was held at Corbridge:

I will, Mike! . nonoredcard

Alan, I have asked the question, and the answer is Yes. smile
Well-behaved dogs on leads and their owners are allowed on site.

As long as they don't cause disruption to the planned dog agility demonstrations in the display arena.
They will also allow well-behaved TVR owners and their well-behaved passengers into the showground, so I want you all on your very best behaviour.

Which is nice. smile

shout ATTENTION EVERYBODY!

BYWELL SHOW
Entry is free to displaying classic and sports cars, and their drivers and passengers but you will need an entry pass from me.
I will require your contact details, car make, model, year and registration number at least two weeks prior to the event. I have to submit the list to the Show organisers, who will issue the passes to me for distribution amongst our TVR group PRIOR to the Show. Passes will have to be shown at the entry gate.

Entry for the public is £10 for adults, U16's free.

I am proposing that we give a voluntary donation of a fiver per car to go towards our chosen S Club charity this year. This is still to be decided. Sensible suggestions welcome.

So you may start PMing me your details for the Sunday Bywell Show entry passes,

BEAMISH VISIT
If you want to attend Beamish Museum on the Saturday, you need to purchase your e-voucher from Alison at the TVRCC Office. Available during office hours from now until Thursday 14th June. Note that these discount tickets are valid for one day only ( Sat 30th June ).
If you wish to buy a multi-visit ticket, you will have to buy one from the Beamish ticket office.
Beamish refreshment e-vouchers are also available at £6 each

Edit: Please could some kind soul post these details on the relevant Facebook page/forum/ thingy/ whatever?
I am not sufficiently clued up on using that wondrous medium.
I tried it once and it scared the ccensoredp out of me. yikes

Many thanks.

Sorry folks, what a shame you can't make it weeping
Hope you can next time.

PLEASE NOTE the following:

Sat Beamish Visit:
Please note that the deadline for discounted Beamish tickets via the TVRCC Office has now expired, so any of you who have not booked with Alison will have to buy your own at full price at the Museum entrance on the Saturday.
I will distribute entry tickets & refreshment vouchers to those who have pre-ordered them, on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 in the Car Park Top Tier 7 East.

Fri Run:
The deadline for ordering lunch at the William de Percy is 20th June. You need to book with them direct and pay a deposit when ordering your menu choices.
Full details are posted in this thread.

Sunday Bywell Show:
I will be posting out the entry passes in the next couple of days to those who will not be taking part in either of the other two days of our events.
The rest I will distribute at Beamish Fri & Sat morning or the W de P lunch stop.
Full instructions on how to get to Bywell and which gate to enter for our TVR display area [ A2 ] will be included with the exhibitor passes.

I hope you all have an enjoyable time with us whichever element(s) you have chosen.

And I am hoping the elements will be shining down on us for the weekend.

Fingers crossed that this beautiful spell of weather is set to continue over the weekend. cool
My S is full to the gunwales with all my S Club Heaven gear and ready to set off for the drive up to Northumbria very soon...
"Sleeping policemen" may pose a problem. yikes

I submitted the TVR final final entry list to the Bywell Show organisers yesterday evening.
There were a total of 73 TVRs registered but with 6 cancellations bringing the total to 67.

The organisers are happy to admit a further 23 TVRs up to our reserved allocation of 90 spaces,..
so if you decide at the last minute you want to come along, you may not be too late. smile

Additionally, one or two of the Sporting Bears Dream Rides guys that were due to attend the Show have had to cancel at short notice, so they have asked if any TVR owners fancy helping out by offering their services ( and cars ) to this worthy cause.
If you are willing to participate with your TVR please see the Sporting Bears organisers on arrival to discuss arrangements. driving or better still, email them today to find out how you can help:
polarbears@sportingbears.co.uk

Hope everyone has a great time at this action- packed Show.
It's going to be awesome!
