TVR Car Club Cadwell Trackday 24th May

I truly believe the problem is the location - it is just too remote for quite a number of people I know.
A group of us meet regularly for track days, and anywhere in the southern half of the country we can get between 4 and 10 of us attending.
This is the first time in six years I have managed to get any of my TVR friends to attend Cadwell Park, and then only one, and he has already made a sharp intake of breath and a slight grumble at it being over 200 miles each way from leafy Surrey.
If we want it to be a success in future I do think we need to look at other, more accessible, locations.
I have 7 or 8 friends that attend this event and wouldn’t dream of travelling another 400 miles on top of what they already travel to drive a less challenging circuit. Difficult to get the balance right..A group of us meet regularly for track days, and anywhere in the southern half of the country we can get between 4 and 10 of us attending.

Early advertising, more far reaching advertising is what’s needed.
Lots of effort went into advertising the Rockingham event last year and it was a success, don’t know why the same effort can’t go into Cadwell - a drivers circuit worth travelling too.

So this sold out about three weeks ago and perhaps we should have made more of that and than we have done. We now actually have two drivers on our Reserve List! We are hoping this means we will be able to do two TVRCC track days in 2020!
Of the 60 drivers, 6 are First Timers and 12 are Novices so we will do Sessions in the morning and open pit lane in the afternoon. TVRs range from Grantura through to Sagaris. Non TVRs include a Mini, MX5 and a couple of BMWs, but all owned by TVRCC members. Organisers and tbc the Instructors, are staying in Louth the night before, so I will post pub and restaurant details nearer the time if anybody wants to meet up.
We’ll be in an Audi, staying on ferry from Zeebrugge night before so may be a little late, hope that’s not a problem with drivers brief James?Of the 60 drivers, 6 are First Timers and 12 are Novices so we will do Sessions in the morning and open pit lane in the afternoon. Hi John - It's already been said, but it's no problem. (I've found with PONSF that if you say at check-in you have an early morning appointment they will put you in freight and you get off earlier than the cars, with the lorries.)CanoeSniffer said:
Nobody who turned up with more than 250hp is allowed to moan about not getting past people, the number of times I was stuck behind someone who promptly disappeared down the next straight...
It's all part and parcel of track days, there was a wide variety of abilities and cars so if someone clearly isn't getting the message after a couple of laps then it pays just to find your own space!
Not a popular view, but....It's all part and parcel of track days, there was a wide variety of abilities and cars so if someone clearly isn't getting the message after a couple of laps then it pays just to find your own space!
It’s why sessions are so much better when there is such variance in car and driver abilities.
(All IMO)

I wasn’t going to risk my car and possibly my life by squeezing past someone who isn’t moving over on a narrow track. It’s not racing, we are there for fun but it is easy to get frustrated when someone can’t admit to being slower, throttle off and move over.
I agree. Need to get home safe.Edited by anonymous-user on Sunday 26th May 18:20
