Although good advice, most of the problems have been exaggerated IMO.

Oh and, think Beeny has had a reduction.

Oh and, think Beeny has had a reduction about a dozen kids, so they'll be round her knees when she takes her over-the-shoulder-boulder-holster off.

Agreed

The roof support seemed fairly OK, as did the extension roof replacement.

But I wasn't sure at all about the work they did on the sidewall. Wasn't there anything else that could have been done instead, certainly before putting in a flash kitchen.
The roof support was OK up to a point but, should have used bolts (not screws) to secure the new supports. Most of the movement on the flank wall looked to be fairly old and, most probably happened over many years of settlement, as witnessed by the old woodwork bodge between floor and wall to cover gap.

The only other sensible option, re the flank wall, would be to rebuild but, the cost of such would only be warranted if further movement was to be observed. All IMO of course. smile

The couple (or was it Beeney) stated that they had a 'standard survey', I'm guessing this to be a mortgage survey. Now even mortgage surveys usually point out any glaringly obvious defects (of which this property has oodles of) yet in three years they failed to rectify any of the defects, instead, spent time and money on splashing emulsion around the walls. Beggars belief!
