They are still on about it at lunchtime today! The main story FFS.

It's OVER. Can we have some news now, please?

The vote is over that's it. Don't read it if it offends you so much.
Who is that addressed to? Read what?

TL;DR - Time to regroup, reconstitute, and re-emerge bigger, better, and stronger!
Do you think that might work better in N,P&E?

This thread was intended to be more about the BBC spending 22 minutes of its 30 minute slot on the aftermath of the election. There is actual news available from elsewhere, should they feel like spending some time on it.

Speaking of the BBC's coverage of the election, they missed yet another opportunity today to point out, when discussing RBS's 'threat' to move their registered office to England, that a registered office need not be much more than a plate on a wall.

Scary threat, eh!

Were they trying to make the whole thing sound interesting, or were they suggesting/hinting that people should vote no? I'm going with option 1 there. They failed.

It would not have been a mere "name plate change".
Maybe not, but the news reports I heard simply stated "moving their registered office", not "moving the headquarters". Maybe that is what they meant to say, but it's not what they said.

Capital Requirements Directive IV requires credit institutions to have their office in the same member state as their registered office. Head office is interpreted as the mind and management of the company so more than just a few directors - the regulators would expect key functions such as risk management, compliance and internal audit to be based there.

So a lot more than just the "brass plate" on a wall that the Yes Campaign suggested.
Thanks for that, but my point was not about what would happen if or when when they moved their registered office, or about the Yes Campaign.
