Anyone watching this?

I must say, if HMS Ocean is the RN's 'flagship', she probably doesn't have the Russian navy quaking in its seaboots.

An aging, breaking down, helicopter carrier, that is crewed by 17 year old girls and others whose idea of a good time is converting their sleeping quarters into what looks like the gayest nightclub in the world (miners' night..), whose old hands talk about how nervous they are to be sailing through the Red Sea.

Surprised the RN allowed them to film this stuff.

Nelson, turn your eye away now.

  • no disrespect intended to the 17 years old girls, I am sure they are keen and motivated and work hard, and good on them for volunteering, but they just don't inspire much confidence

I have been watching it. I might try and dig out the old tv series "Sailor" instead to help wipe my mind of how lightweight it is.

I wasn't concentrating on it the other night but wondered how if the TV crew left and flew home via Cairo when the entered the Red Sea who was making the rest of the TV programme?

Oh it's on the tube of you - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsdBsiXtXaA&li...
(Ps. tits in the first 3 minutes)
The TV crew left before passing Yemen, and re-joined once the ship arrived in Oman.

"Sailor" is what inspired me to join the RN.

If you want a realistic (and very funny) view of life in the Royal Navy, take a few hours and read this thread:

I can confirm "Ravers" experiences were much the same as mine, we even worked in the same branch of the RN ( Weapons Engineering).
Read that a while ago. The story about the sailor detaching the ship's wheel and racing around the deck with it roflrofl
