Brendan was out of line last week and he is wearing thin on me. This should be his last season IMHO.

Well I was two weeks behind and have just fully caught up whilst avoiding all social media spoilers etc. To be honest I was shocked and a little disappointed at Joe winning. Alexandra was hand down the best dancer of the series and I always looked forward to her performances as they were "performances" of dance, not just going through the steps. However I was also impressed with Debbie, and I would have been very happy for her to win even though she has dance experience. Joe was a third placer for me, he's done a great job to get where he did, but I never warmed to his dancing and I think Katya's choreography got him farther in the series than you might otherwise think. Gemma was the weakest of the lot, it would have been nice to have had Aston in her place but that is just fantasy.

Dance of the season for me was Alexandra's jive, oddly I thought it was better in week 4, than in the final, but it had such polish, energy and a great backing track that it was really outstanding. Closely followed but without the "wow" factor, was her Argentine Tango, a really really classy performance but they chose the right dance out of the two to try and get the maximum votes in the final.

The final group routine was an excellent montage of the series, I enjoyed how it summed up so much of it.

Shirley seems out of place in the show, I don't doubt her technical knowledge, it is obviously supreme but it is so ingenious that she marks on the soft side given how much she must see as wrong, I think she should be firmer but not harsh like Craig's style.

What I miss is an "extra" after the show where they get to interview all the finalists to discuss the night. I believe that they should do a final It Takes Two on the Monday with all of the finalists to discuss the final show when the emotion has somewhat dissipated but still fresh enough to reflect on.

Overall it was a good series, not one of the best but as always really enjoyable. See you all back here in August/September next year.

A shame but no great loss, too argumentative and attention seeking. I'd be happy to see Shirley go as well.
Totally agree.

Also I wonder how the pro's pay works, would they get a base then extra for each week they are in, then when booted out revert back to the retainer?
