Is it just me but ant anstead is patronising. He feeds you incorrect information for starters. And don't get me started on them ruining a standard escort cossie. Plus why is it all in dollars now. It's a British show so at least do us the decency of using good old sterling.

There were things that ed did that pissed me off like his obsession with putting new style number plates on all cars he worked on. But I miss him already. I thought anstead was a good guy but he just makes it up for TV effect. There is no way that the escort was designed with rallying in mind. It was just graft an escort shell on a Sierra floor pan. I had an open mind but I think one of my favourite shows has become unwatchable. 😞

Having said that the show was not about wheeling and dealing anymore. The budgets involved made it out of the reach of the home mechanic. The early shows were a lot more diy. Later it became a show where they just sent it all out to specialists.

I think there is a hole in the market for a low budget car repair/ restoration show for 2 people. I am in who wants to buy me a car to fix?

Perhaps I am a bit critical. I am an engineer so love detail and when they dumb it down for telly it gets on my nerves.

I don't dislike ant but just wish he would get his facts right.

I am used to it being a fix. Mike uses his contacts more than they let on. Early days and I will still watch it but, the early stuff where ed fixed things rather than just replace or send it off to someone else to do is the best. I watched the one where he fixed the audi tt gearbox with a bolt and it was more my kind of programme.

The dollars gripe could be solved if they showed both currencies.

I know that the car was designed as a rally car but they just used the Sierra floor pan that had been around for years. They were still rallying mk2 escorts when it was conceived.

I do like the look of the supra next week. If nothing else the cars they have picked are a step up for me.

I saw the trailer for this. Don't know what to make of it. Again the early wd was good because the cars were what you know or lusted after as a kid. Plus the budgets are realistic. I am not sure about anyone else but I don't have a spare 30000 to invest in a car despite a 20000 return.

Maybe they should make the show more realistic by working on some ones drive with rain down there neck and a knackered set of halfords spanners. There would be a lot more cursing but it would make better TV.

No. Why has everything gone American. Even his cheesy catch phrases are gone in favour of some good old americanisms.

I don't need a bloke to take 5 minutes how to use a rag either.

I don't know if I can put myself through another episode.😞
