Beats the trashy Poldark that I stopped watching yonks ago due to incoherent dialogue and screechy background music akin to the sound a cat makes when being decapitated with a blunt trowel.
Very edgy, and with no credits at the start, there was no indication of the production team. Within 20 minutes I guessed Jed Mercurio.
This show has great potential, I mean who can forget the plot twist in the interview with DI Cotton in Line of Duty.
Quality of drama on TV has, imho, sunk without trace in the last few years. Just seems to cater for the lowest common denominator.

Quite, pre conceived & racist, why always Islamic suicide bombers and the white guys/girls the good guys ?
I mean... I'm pretty sure the entire point of the series is that he, the former British solider, becomes the baddie. The police at the start were also clearly portrayed as non-heroes. Potentially a good series i think, addressing some preconceived notions.
I'm not trying to be sexist, and certainly not implying that it was 'wrong' but what is the likelihood that the operations lead, marksman and bomb disposal operator all being female?
in fact all of the women were portrayed as villains/ unlikeable. whats the point in that??
and surely someone with PTSD is going to go through some form of psychological profiling before going on bodyguard detail?
i think the show has potential but ultimately think it felt a tad formulaic.

First time I've watched a new drama series in years, the last was probably Happy Valley. I had mixed feelings about it which has already been covered above as I too think it will end up being predictable and formulaic and from the first episode, a bit too PC for its own good.
Early days though and I'm willing to see it through.
