I need a mind bleach.

I knew this was 'Dark' comedy but Jesus H Christ this is something I never thought I'd see on TV in the UK - No wonder the BBC turned it down they could see it would have set new records for letters of complaint.

Julia Davis is an awesome talent but who knew she could go to such depths of depravity in her search for the humourous eek

I thought the final 5 minutes of episode 1 were almost crossing the line but the final moments of episode 4 don't just cross the boundary they take a giant leap over it. hehe

I'll bet Lena Headey who guest starred in this episode thought she'd set the bar with her incestuous sex scenes with her brother in Game of Thrones only to be taught what a really "out-there" scene is all about by Ms Davis.

Shocking stuff.

Just read a review by the New York Post and it ends with...

"There is comedy, and then there is dark comedy, and then there is Julia Davis’s comedy."

So true.

A couple of good moments, but not nearly enough of them to justify some of those scenes. If you're going to make something that far out there, it needs to be hilarious, and it just isn't.

It's not meant to be hilarious, The Office wasn't hilarious. It's not that kind of humour.

I don't recall explicit girl on girl action or people stting on others in the Office. Must've missed those episodes.
That wasn't the analogy I was drawing. They are both from the 'Cringe Comedy' genre, the explicit content is there for it's awkwardness.

Mother and Daughter witnessing Husbands/Dad's defecating into Emma's mouth wasn't meant to be 'hilarious' it was meant to be "OMFG"...which it nailed and some.

Any chance I could PM as well? Would love to watch this but don't have Sky.
PM me please and let me know you've done it by saying so on this thread so that I can check my email as I don't very often.

I'm surprised all of the usual places to stream this show don't appear to have it.

Is all this secrecy to do with either kodi or iptv?

Both recommended! But with a VPN.
The secrecy is to do with not breaking any of PH's rules about posting links to sites that they might deem inappropriate and thus landing me with a telling off.

I'll give you a good telling off if you don't answer my question! A simple yay or otherwise will suffice...biggrin
OK. Kodi and IPTV are not involved. Although I don't have IPTV I do have Kodi.

Just a quick heads up, if you simply google what you want, there are free and uncompromising ways of watching it without a Sky or NowTV subscription.
Why didn't you do that instead of e-mailing me? hehe

her character is so annoying it grates on me which I'm sure is the desired effect.
yes

If it doesn't grate on you then I'm not sure you're getting the entire 'cringe' effect. hehe

I think that all the while you're watching you're meant to almost hope pray that she's not in the next scene.

Am I the only one who fancies Sally?! laugh
Yes, she's a bit too straight laced and 'mumsy' for me.

A perfect foil for Julia Davis' character.

She didn't make a 2nd series of Camping but it was still very good.

Not sure every series needs a follow-up. Some should just be left as stand-alone offerings so as not to diminish the original.

JUst watched Camping, basically because of this thread/show. LOved it. I recall it being on but for some reason thought ANgus Deayton was in it and had a totally different idea of what it would be like. It was nothing like I expected, it was ace. Very good performances all round.
Looked for a thread, this was top. biggrin
Hunderby next?

I watched HUnderby when it was on, I recall being entertained but not enough for it to stick. I'll try it again. It was one series, right?
I suppose Julia Davis has a good connection at Sky. biggrin
I think there were 2.

I see the US translation started last week, missed the first two so used my string connection to dload the first two.
Anyone watched it?

Tennent's doing an American accent, and Garner is affecting an accent too...it feels a tad stilted at the start, but it was the pilot.
Which series are they copying? Hunderby? Surely not Sally4Ever hehe
