Looks potentially interesting. Live action TV series.
Pedro Pascal as the lead (hope he remembers his helmet this time).
Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog(acting!), Nick Nolte and Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad) and others.
Some decent directors as well.

And with a Cassian Andor series coming looks like Disney are trying to make a decent fist of Star Wars after the massive balls up of TLJ.

Only problem is it's only going on the Disney+ streaming service. Can't see a Disney only service rivaling the variety of Sky/Netflix/Amazon so probably one for dedicated Disney heads only. I suspect it will be strongly available via alternative sources if Disney don't let others license it. As far as I can tell it looks US only initially with no stated plans for the rest of the world.
No pricing available either although lower than Netflix is expected.

I just read that Disney makes something like $300m p.a. licensing stuff to other providers. They are stopping that when D+ launches, seems crazy.

But yeah, it's going to be the new GoT!

The netflix model is very good. It's cheap enough and there is enough choice for everyone.
Disney are self limiting, only disney, no adult stuff.
You'd have to be a major fan to sub to a disney only service unless its very cheap. To cut off other services to effectively force people over to your service, I can't see it working out.
I have NowTV (on and off as needed), Netflix, Amazon plus FTA and all the catch up services. I'm crippled by choice as it is, D+ would need to be pretty compelling for me to drop one of the others.

Looks good.
Going to have to sort thier distribution out asap as I can see this being pirated more than GoT.

It wasn't a spectacular start but I thought it was pretty solid overall.
Looked amazing, liked the bounty droid and proper storm troopers.

How has it launched in the Netherlands?

The lad was just watching this and he liked it a lot.
I can see baby Yoda's being a popular toy.

Did anyone else think "shoot the barrels" during the courtyard battle. Or do I play too many computer games?

Sorry the self quote - I just read that the reason is not the EU rules its because of the contract Disney have with Sky which runs out next year.

I enjoyed the 2nd episode as well.
A whole 10minutes without dialogue is a brave choice in a Star Wars show.

Wait until March.

Or relocate a country that does have it now.

Ep3 is a good one.
Kind of expected that sequence of events to happen.

I'm liking how they are building the Mandalorians (as a race and a person) back story. Feels like more of a calling/religion than a race though.

Question - Were Jango and Bobba actually Mandalorians or just using Mandalorian armour? We see Jango without a helmet but I don't recall seeing adult Bobba without one.

Is this the only exclusive/launch/new show?

It seems like a crazy choice, they should have waited until a global or near global launch could happen. I think we said on page one this would have the st pirated out of it.

I wonder what they will do with the UK launch. Hold back and release week by week or have all available day one. If so and there is no additional new content I could see a lot of people doing a month trial and binning it.

I enjoyed it.
Very much the classic magnificent (2) plot.

What she actually said was nothing on this plant can bring down an AT-ST.

Gus Fring turns up in Ep7, which is pretty good, building to a nice conclusion pulling together the threads of the previous episodes.

Do we have the final one on Friday this week?

I enjoyed it. The final episode felt a bit convenient, could have done with another couple of episode or at least a bit longer to get to the end point.

Monster of the week again, but we really enjoyed it.
There really is no need for a series to run a massive series long story, just a thread is enough.

The boy maintained that was fett's armour the whole way through. I was skeptical.

Boba and Jango are not Mandalorians.

Looks like there will be Jedi though - "Rosario Dawson wields two lightsabers in an awesome realistic design of her as fan-favorite Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano for her rumored appearance in The Mandalorian season two"

This is also mentioned in this months SFX.

Felt like a filler episode to me. Still enjoyed it.
Not convinced the eggs are eggs or Frog lady is quite what she appears.
