Apparently.
Trailer looks good but only seen through third party sights.

Looks good.
6th Oct? Superb. I hate the spring announcements for an autumn release.
Edit.

Look at the date. This slipped under the radar. I was searching on BBC 1. BBC ONE returned better results
Edit. Er..... I hope this is not a lemon.

Hoping this does the original musical justice.
The “musical” is based on a classic science fiction novel by HG Wells (as was the Tom Cruise movie).
Go and sit in the corner.
I have the large tome with seven or so of HG Wells stories in. Not sure what year but £4.95 and part published by the same firm that initially published his works.

Fingers crossed for this, I really hope they have HMS Thunderchild in it.
This to me will define it - Will it be awesome? What will the CGI be like for "that scene"?It would be good to see the artillery mans idea shown in detail.

which?
Hitch Hikers Guide.Book, radio then TV then film.
All with differences. I have the. radio play scripts. Adams passed away before the film but it was his work.
Then Dirk Gently tv series, not as per book and years after Adams but I enjoyed it a lot.
Mr Wells is not around obviously. I hope it is something he would have approved of.
Wonders about this. The BBC version or the Fox version?
Hate the search that indicates a link will say when it is aired and just says Autumn. Obvious hook to click the link.
If New Zealand has the first episode, is that a nod possibly to the special effects studio there assuming they did a lot of the work?

I expect changes can be for many reasons. Lord of The Rings was OK, but a few changes split the ending somewhat. Hobbit was sort of OK, not along the lines of the kids book it was meant to be but when turned into Dune, I though come on! Probably a success with a lot of people that never read the books.

I had no idea this had been released first outside the UK (how does that grab you, license payers?)
Well, it's fair to say the IMDB reviews are not exactly glowing: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8001226/reviews?ref_=...
fking LOL. Wow. It's either people jumping on the one upsmanship to write as much negativity as possible OR it truly is a stinker.Well, it's fair to say the IMDB reviews are not exactly glowing: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8001226/reviews?ref_=...
Still going to watch it and make my mind up.

Effects for the tripods are good, sparse scenes with them in unfortunately
Understood. Lower expectations then.Effects for the tripods are good, sparse scenes with them in unfortunately
I do like Alien 3 though, and Alien 4 and all the Jurassic films
Though I did re watch Dark Star many years after the first watch and wondered why I thought it was funny.
OK, giving it the next episode. Liked the effects with the tripod though but lad tickling the ground with a plastic pick axe, needed some more thought. You can do a lot on a lower budget than a blockbuster but also a lot that makes it look worse.

One thing that really jarred with me, oddly, is why if being unmarried and living in sin was so scandalous and shocking, was it perfectly ok for them to be showing public displays of affection, kissing and smooching in public, etc. Or had attitudes towards this relaxed somewhat in Edwardian times compared to the more up-tight Victorian times?
Some searching of family history has shown that it was probably not the heinous crime that we today think it was.I mean, ones monocle nearly fell out when she rode the horse. On her own even.
