Looks good. Based on a CS Forrester story. Not too many films about the Battle of the Atlantic.

Looks interesting, not too gung ho I hope. A friend of my mothers was on the convoys and survived being sunk by a U boat.
My Grandad too ... he never stopped banging on about it ... and I never tired of him doing so :-)Shame he's not around anymore to see this.

I’ve just watched the trailer again- “greyhound, safe travels to England”.....
Did US navy destroyers escort convoys all the way to the U.K.?....
Whilst it will undoubtedly be a great film for cinema goers it’s not for me I’m afraid
I’ll watch the cruel sea again lol
Yes, some did like this one - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Kearny_(DD-432) their Battleships also went all the way across, such as USS Arkansas, USS New York and USS Texas escorting convoys to Iceland and Scotland.Did US navy destroyers escort convoys all the way to the U.K.?....

Soz. Didn’t see that. Did look. A bit. Seems to be Saving private Ryan with u boats, first time leading his men into combat, as Captain of a destroyer, pretty good destroyer Captain too, till he had a crisis of confidence...or is that the other Tom? I agree about the effects, they look amazing, yet totally unconvincing at the same time, the scale model used in Das Boot was far more realistic.
I'm sure we'd all love to see a true to life retelling of the story of the Arctic Convoys (not forgetting the Malta Convoys), but without actors, CGI, a more entertaining storyline and dramatic music the nearest feeling you could get to the reality would be sitting outside at night in a freezing bathtub full of water in the rain whilst someone tried to tip you out. No one would pay for that. It's supposed to be entertainment not an epitaph for the brave souls that perished on the Convoys. Whilst the Hollywoodisation of a piece of history we hold close to our hearts and identify with always feels cheap it's the only real way the masses will get to experience this piece of history... .

Jeremy Clarkson did an excellent documentary about one Arctic convoy PQ17 a few years ago . Well worth watching popeyewhite said:
