Not a fan of electric cars but the first episode was interesting. A Karman Ghia conversion. Looked half decent.

Anyone spot the Countach shaped car in the background at the end? Replica perhaps?
I hope it is a replica.

30 grand.....is that the going rate ? Sounds expensive, especially when the batteries will need replacing at some point
Yes. 18 of them at £700 each

Why do they leave the gearbox in?
Especially in the case of the 500 as it was apparently a very special 5-speed box and the owner still had the original 4-speed.
I guess the answer is that it's easier and cheaper than making something bespoke, even though only one speed s really needed.
The whole gearbox situation baffles me. How many main stream electric car makers use a gear box?

Perhaps they should team up with Goblin Works Garage for the full effect.
I thought GW had already made an electric 500 or did I imagine that?

Goblin Works did indeed do a 500, I was thinking if they joined forces on any other cars what an absolute mess of bodgery it would be.

Non the less I will still watch both Vintage Voltage and Goblin Works on the slim chance they may get better.
I know what you mean. It’s a morbid fascination akin to watching something you know isn’t going to end well but hope springs eternal

Enjoying watching it but suprised at some of the rough and ready angle grinding showering sparks all over the defender and a few other things already mentioned such as working off axle stands etc. Some info on the cooling system for the motor would have been interesting. The machining and diff replacement was all subbed out, but overall it looked a decent project by the end.
Did they let out how much it had cost all up?
Not that I recall

Ferrari 308 conversion on tonight's show.
Apparently this one haD the engine stolen otherwise I can think why anyone would want to replace that engine.

Did anyone else catch the Lancia Fulvia episode last night?. Let's just say it's still not a good advert for their quility of workmanship.
I got a reminder that the show was back. I decided to ignore it as everything they’ve done so far has been dire and I couldn’t see it improving.

Anyone else notice the Gordon-Keeble in one shot which was presumably awaiting vandalism/improvement?
I did notice that, not least because I'm watching the re-runs of "Waking the Dead" on Drama and one of the episodes last week featured another one. I wonder if they do stuff other that electric conversions, as it seems like a very rare thing to be converting.
One can but hope but seeing some of the cars I’d class as classics I fear the worst.
