The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Discussion
Yes it is more 'standard Marvel film' so far, but I think they had to shuffle the order from what they originally intended because Covid (Wandavision was meant to be shown later as a lead up to Doctor Strange 2), and the Loki series coming after this will probably crank up the WTFometer again . Having one series of flying around with shooting and explosions is fine. Weirdness will be back soon.

Here’s something interesting
This ad came on when I was watching you tube yesterday

If you watch it right to the end the store guy says his gamer tag is noobmaster69.......
I hadn’t watched the ad to the end. Is noobmaster69 the guy trolling Thor’s mate in End Game? This ad came on when I was watching you tube yesterday

So now, if we want to keep track of the MCU, we have to watch adverts as well?
I'm sure this guy was in the Winter Soldier as well when Captain America and Black Widow go to the computer shop.
It must have been this guy's cousin then that was giving crap to Korg on Fortnight in Endgame.
Now he's the Xbox guy
The actor is D.C. Pierson https://www.cbr.com/falcon-winter-soldier-xbox-noo...

Minor issue, but Russell looks fine without the head gear on, but for whatever reason he looks terrible with it on, it looks worryingly close to a cheap Avengers knock-off at the moment. Maybe that's exactly the plan though...I've no idea if they are planning to broadly follow the comics or not.

Disney is funny, they can show Thanos' purple decapitated head but won't even dare show a frame of the "terrorist".
Others have outlined well why this was done from a story point of view. It’ll also have been done because Falcon and Winter Solider airs on TV and is not subject to certification, whereas Endgame was shot to fit clearly in the bounds of a 12A or PG-13 certificate. And frankly, it’s just not necessary to show it. The scene has more impact without it. It very clearly made a statement of “Steve wouldn’t have done that” by focussing on the man, not the act.
Some of the editing looks weird, showing others reactions to off screen voices, odd cuts etc.. Nothing from Disney but it looks like the series was edited and recut last year when Covid hit because of a big virus and vaccine storyline in the series, it was originally meant to be the first series out, before Wandavision. https://youtu.be/VhKIAHABGac

I feel we didn't really get enough time with the FlagSmashers to know the characters, and that's probably down to the rewrite.
I suspect Mama Donya, who died early in the show, might have been the charismatic leader of the Flag Smashers. Karli Morgenthau tried to continue the fight, but finds she’s out of her depth. In some ways mirroring John Walker’s attempt to live up to Steve Rogers’ legacy. Sam needs a word with whoever designed the suit though, it didn't look comfortable around his neck and head...
Bruce Wayne:
[in an empty conference room]
I need a new suit.
Lucius Fox:
Yeah, three buttons is a little '90's, Mr. Wayne.
Bruce Wayne:
I'm not talking fashion, Mr. Fox, so much as function.
[hands him a diagram]
Lucius Fox:
You want to be able to turn your head.
Bruce Wayne:
Sure would make backing out of the driveway easier.

I agree, that didn’t seem quite right. If it’s not a protective helmet, and it’s not a mask to protect a secret identity, then just get rid of it. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
