Link should work for all but if you can't click it for any reason...

School kid in London writes a letter to "Captain Jack Sparrow" asking for assistance in a mutiny against the school teachers. Depp gets said letter and during a break in filming the new Pirates movie turns up at the School unanounced in full Jack Sparrow mode with other pirate cast members and entertains the kids in a hasitly called school assembly. Not that many A list movie stars would do that.

Top bloke!

Excellent free advertising for the new movie and great experience for the school. Win win.

Agreed, although it must be pointed out that it was the School who told the press. Depp himself didn't turn up with any press in tow and all the video footage and photos were taken by the kids and teachers on mobile phones. So although it will obviously give the film a nice little nod it clearly wasn't his primary intention at all.

What an amazing bloke.
It means a lot more when you hear that he also does it without the BBC cameras present.
You mean like at this school yesterday? (the photos and film on all the websitesd came from the camera phones of the children and the teachers. The Press only found out after the school told them)

Wasn't it him who declared himself a big fan of the Fast Show, and said complimentary things about Paul Whitehouse's acting ?

Then really enjoyed taking part in a 'Suit You' sketch with Ken and Kenneth.
Yes. Search for "Rowley Birkin - sad story" on YouTube. Apparently it moved johnny to tears and it was this scene that made him want to work with Whitehouse on the show.
