Looking forward to the details

Pedantry alert: unless they're experts in being witnesses to car accidents, the royal protection officers would just give witness statements.
If we are truly pedants, why are we not demanding the thread title is corrected to reflect that he is 97 and it was a Freelander?
Hah! I edited the OP to correct the age but I assume only a forum mod can fix the title. I think when I posted I was distracted by Nicholas Witchell saying the duke is '5 months short of his 98th birthday'.
No excuse for 'range rover' - I think I just didn't scrutinise that pic very closely and went with what the media were reporting.

Interesting discussion though. Must admit if I was in the position of the injured parties, I would have no problem telling my side for some financial reward. I sure as hell would not be expecting well wishes from the queen etc. and appearing on 'ITV This Morning'. When somebody crashed into me back in June they actually text me the next day to see if we (had kids with me) were okay and I text back to say thanks, we are fine. That was it.

Debris from the crash on eBay for £66,000 WTF.

I was surprised they left the bits there anyway, but 66K get a grip people.
There would be pretty much zero chance they will get any money, certainly not 66k.

This auction of crash debris made the news a few days ago, assuming it's the same one.

for whatever reason, people just seem to bid away on these weird auctions but you can be pretty sure no-one ever pays up.

"Woman hurt in crash with Prince Philip could lose licence"

I'll just leave this amusing little update here for your perusal.

Of course, it probably won't happen/makes a good headline etc etc.

But I know Ms Fairweather didn't receive a great deal of sympathy for her whining appearances on Tv and tales to the papers, so I find it an amusing little aside.
