Brexit being the problem, apparently, as customers defer holiday plans.

Nothing to do with the on going 737Max trouble then. Yep, let's blame everything on Brexit. How about just blaming the politicians for making a right royal cock up of it all.
There's an over capacity of flights isn't there? It's not as though they're struggling to fulfil the demand.

Whilst it may have had an effect i cant see how a billion+ loss can be aimed squarely at brexit. If there was a trend then perhaps, but how is Jet2 holidays doing for example?
Okay https://www.jet2.com/leading-leisure-travel-group
Do they serve a different demographic?

I usually associate Thomas Cook with budget holidays, whereas Jet 2 are slightly more expensive.

Why would people be unsure about renewing passports?

Just shows how thick a lot of the population is. Renewed mine last week. Got it 5 days later including the weekend.

Yep! it's still the little red EU one not the big black cardboardy type one, but every page does have a very British picture on it.
Because:

1. The fee represents a lot of money to them.

2. They want a new BRITISH passport when they come out.

3. They are not going anywhere so why spend the money?

Why would Brexit stop people going on holiday?

We have a couple of European holidays booked for later this year just as we have for the past few years
It hasn't stopped us totally, but we purposely didn't book our European trip while the potential to crash out with no deal was on the immediate horizon... bugger sitting in queues for the channel tunnel for hours if(when) they messed up the border/passport checking process. If that turned out to be the case we'd just fly somewhere instead at shorter notice.
Pretty much our attitude.
