DJ Tim Westwood
Discussion
Various allegations about the behaviour of Tim Westwood now seem to be surfacing, and calls for him to be sacked from his Capital Xtra radio show are growing, and the hashtag #SurvivingTimWestwood is doing the rounds on Twitter, with many allegations being made.
The allegations are that he has repeatedly 'behaved inappropriately' with 'young fans' and 'student fans' over many years.
Whether any of this is true or not, remains to be seen of course.

I was amazed when I first saw a photo of him after listening to him for a while.
I was even more amazed to recently find out that he is 62yrs old!
He is indeed 62. He does have previous for lying about his age though.I was even more amazed to recently find out that he is 62yrs old!
He swore blind to a journalist from The Guardian that he was only 27, when he was actually 43 back in the year 2000.
I grew up listening to him, and still listen to some of his mixtapes now. He has had some unfair press over the years and a LOT of ridicule, but he really is an incredibly important figure in Rap/Hip Hop.
This article is well written and finally gives him the credit he deserves in my opinion:

We all were ..
You can just imagine the conversation across the pond
Dr Dre: "Snoop we are sending you over for an interview on the UK's largest Radio Station"
Snoop: "Cool"
Dre: "Just one thing I need to prewarn you about. Well you know them brits are crazy, well this dj sounds a litttle different than you will expect..."

Young Ross was in a club near me in the 90's - he had his minder scouting for as much fanny as he could handle
As for Westwood, and his fame in the 90's, I'd be surprised if he didn't take advantage - I bet he was fighting them off
Westwood will have absolutely been fighting them off with a stty stick back in the 90's.As for Westwood, and his fame in the 90's, I'd be surprised if he didn't take advantage - I bet he was fighting them off

Do you think him being white is playing into it at all ? Black male music stars from that era were not generally the most gentlemanly allegedly!
Allegedly, the complaints are from mostly black girls according to the articles I have read.At the end of the day, none of us have a clue what really went on, so I guess we will just have too wait and see where this all goes.
“A petition #mutetimwestwood on the Change.org site called for an investigation to be launched into his behaviour and had attracted over 150 signatures.”
150 hahahahhahahha.
If legal aged women have willingly slept with him i don’t see a problem , bit sleazy yes but no laws broken ? Blm has blown this up beyond what it actually is imo.

If you don’t follow Westwood on Instagram, you should, because some of the stuff he posts is really quite funny.
As others have said, his contribution Rap/Hip Hop and culture in the UK is absolutely massive, and even if you don’t like him, you can’t knock how hard he works and how successful he is.
Never married, no girlfriend, no kids, lives in a small 2 bed property which he keeps immaculate and minimalist.
When interviewed he says he hasn’t got time for marriage or kids etc as he still has so much work to do in the world of hip hop.
He is truly ‘married to the game’ as they say.
As for they way he ‘acts’ or his persona, I don’t think it is an act. It isn’t forced or put on. It’s actually how he is. He simply became so absorbed in the hip hop culture early in his life, that he just subconsciously became that person.
In his own words, “there isn’t a Clark Kent to the Superman. It’s just me. I am who I am”

I don't think he's taking the piss. I think he sees it as the way he feels he needs to be to fit in and be accepted within the culture of a certain genre of music. That's always going to be divisive because some will think it's a bit daft, some will take offence and some will see it for what it is.
