Twitter, Facebook and now youtube have stepped up another level in censoring content following a story exposing the corruption of the Biden family by the New York Post.
Meanwhile, with the exception of the Wall Street Journal the MSM has not only refused to cover the story, but the far more troubling actions of the social media platforms.
There has been a continuing removal of conservative viewpoints for the last eighteen months or so but this is now the thought police at full throttle deciding what you can or can not read, many Doctors and scientists have already been censored for not following the narrative on covid and now it has gotten outright political in what is surely election interference.

Well done the soy boys, having completely missed the point of the post while trying to gloss over the contents of the story.

The social media mob started off with "We dont allow hacked content" but conveniently forgot they did not have those concerns with anything negative about Trump, like his alleged tax returns, nor was the NYT story the result of a hack but based on the contents of a laptop that was a legitimate purchase from the legal owner.
Then they tried it was "Unverified" , again despite Trump disputing the Tax returns were genuine they were happy to allow those stories on the platforms, any liability of the validity of the story is down to The New York Post who are quite happy to stand behind every word.

There is no "Disinformation" Russian or otherwise involved, and even if there were its not in the mandate of social media companies to regulate content on political grounds yet thats exactly what they have been caught doing.

If you do even a modicum of research you will find that there are more holes in the laptop story than a sieve that’s been used as a helmet on the wrong end of a target range. The reason that the story isn’t getting traction outside Fox, Breitbart and OANN is that it’s garbage and has the stink of Giuliani having been involved in concocting “evidence”. The GOP and Fox etc have now pivoted from how ludicrously concocted the “story” was to how outrageous it is that FB and Twitter refuse to disseminate garbage, because it’s right wing garbage and right wingers are just life’s poor downtrodden victims. Boo hoo.

And that hook in your lip must hurt a lot.
Then you will have no trouble telling us those holes in the story will you ?

How do you know there is no disinformation?
The source is the laptop which was Bidens, and before you ask how I know he not only signed a recite when he left it, but the Biden lawyers requested its return last week by e-mail to the repair shop and Giuliani has them.

Notice not one claim from the Biden camp the e-mails are fake ?

Well that the closest this thread will get to an admission from you that you haven’t bothered to do any reading around this. Well done.

So pay attention:

Hunter Biden lives in LA. But apparently he decides to travel 3000 miles to a computer repair shop in Delaware to get three laptops repaired. He drops them off at a place run by a guy with dodgy eyesight who now can’t verify that it was Hunter who dropped anything off. And he didn’t leave a phone number or an address. Or pay for the repair. Or has ever been back to collect the laptops.

And the hard drive in one of the laptops was manufactured six days after they were supposedly dropped off.

The repair guy decides to have a good look at the laptops, including the photo folder, because that’s always the best way to do a repair, where amazingly he finds photos of a Hunter Biden asleep smoking crack and a Hunter Biden sex tape. Imagine that! Then he has a good look through the emails and happens to find some that look like they incriminate not just Hunter, but Joe too. Amazing! And the proof is that Fox has a print out of the emails. A print out. Like something you can type out. But obviously not typed.

So he tells the FBI who investigate and decide this is not worth their effort (hard to investigate when you’re laughing so hard I guess). Next, instead of handing these laptops to a specialist computer investigator who can interrogate the hard drives to see whether what’s on them is legit, he does the very next best thing. The sort of thing anyone sensible would do.

He gives them back to, errr, no, scratch that, just “to” Rudy Giuliani. The same Rudy Giuliani whose daughter says this is a complete crock o’ ste.

Rudy, then, oddly, decides to sit on this explosive “evidence” that could tip the election in Trump’s favour in a heartbeat for three months before feeding it to the NYT.

So, no, I didn’t have any trouble seeing the holes in that crock o’ ste, no.

Is that hook obscuring your vision too?
Oh dear, you have not read the story have you ?

1) The crack head signed a recite when he dropped it off, better still the Biden lawyers requested its return by e-mail (It became the legal property of the repair shop after 90 days of not being collected)

2) Not one claim the e-mails or text are fake from the Biden Camp.

3) The FBI sat on it just like they did the Epstein case until it was exposed, they have their own questions to answer now.

So how exactly does a crackhead get a $50,000 a month job with a company he knows nothing about in a country where he can not speak the language ?, and why did the mayor of Moscows wife give him $3.5 billion ?.

You need to do the research pal, look up Hunters business partners for starters.

Oh by the way, there is no such thing as Qanon, thats a media term used to discredit a board that tells you to do your own research.

What is the remit of these companies? What mandat do you think they have? I'm unaware of any official authorisation. They are within their rights to regulate what they feel is necessary.

If you think there is no Russian use of social media platforms to influence the west, and others, then you are entitled to that belief. However, you would be wrong.
These companies operate under section 230, that they are a platform and not a publisher, when they censor content for political reasons that makes them a publisher and negates the immunity from legal liability they have now.

At no point have I said there is not Russian use of social media to influence, or Chinese or any other country come to that, just as the US and other countries do exactly the same across the world.
But you have to draw the line claiming "The Russians did it" when the evidence is on the crackheads laptop and the e-mails are two way.

This is utter comedy gold.
Apart from $3.5 billion should be $3.5 million.
Any of it not true?

Must admit I am not as invested in US politics as some, but the little I have read does seem to suggest there is something to this story.
Yes your correct it should have said £3.5 million, it was claimed to be for a "Consultancy agreement" with Elena Baturina the widow of the former mayor of Moscow, who was ousted over corruption allegations by the way.

I encouraged you to research for yourself,

Above is the OP, we are now four pages in of the usual subjects throwing insults and blaming "The Russians".

You will note the OP does not discuss the story other than say it is the instigation of censorship imposed by the tech companies.

The "Thought police" are not just big tech but also the useful fools that swallow the spoon fed narrative.

Do your own research ;0)

Is anyone else getting the impression that the O.P. hasn't even read the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four?

It was Orwell's diatribe against Nazi Fascism. Orwell wasn't subtle about the imagery he used (I.E. using a Jewish depiction for the subject of the two minute hate).

Speaking of the two minute hate... I suppose the irony will be lost on the O.P. and some others that they're effectively having one with Biden as the subject.
Just where did "Big Brother" and Thought Police" come from again ?. perhaps you need to read Orwell again.

As for the "Two minute hate" the last four pages are dripping with it "Any outside the narrative must be attacked".

Without meaning to derail the thread it wasnt quite as narrow a view as that. More a rallying against the state / government power and totalitarianism in general.
You are right of course, but then that fits in to the OP so another meaning must be found to attack it. Orwell also names the state organs used to subjugate as "Big Brother" and the "Thought Police" but that went right over their collective head.

Proof you haven't only not read the novel... You've also not read this thread.

The only people dripping with hate are people like you who cant seem to handle reality.

There is no narrative, just a few nutters like you getting their panties in a bunch because we're smart enough to see through their bullst.

BTW, I remember the novel well enough, the core theme was how a small band of power hungry people would use any means to ensure that they remained in power. Violence, fear, torture to ensure compliance, power collected for it's own sake... Wait... that sounds a lot like the way Trump acts (Orwell based it on Nazi Fascism).
Congratulations on self confirming you are a complete fool ;0).

Funny you dont remember control of the media and the propaganda it churned out as "Big Brother" WAS the theme, along with suppression of the language to discourage "Free thinking", get a grown up to explain it to you.

I don't understand how Biden's lawyers can be directly implicated and they say / do nothing?

If this is a concocted story, wouldn't his lawyers be having a field day after they have been quoted and shown (on various formats) as being directly involved i.e. contacting the computer guy to ask for the laptop back? Their email had been posted?

Surely this would be libelous and they'd be doing something, I mean, they're lawyers?
Is the answer

1) "Russian collusion"

2) "They dont want to give it any credibility by answering"

3) "Oh dear, the pussy has left the luggage"

The only fool on here is you who seem completely oblivious to the fact that you are the compliant party member buying the lies and propaganda... You're the one trying to tell us we're at war with Hunter Biden East Asia... we've always been at war with East Asia.

Also if you cant tell the difference between Animal Farm (Orwell's depiction of Stalinist communism) and Ninteen Eighty-Fout (Orwells depiction of Nazi Fascism) then it's because you've never read either.

If anyone is rushing to bring a Fascist state, it's people like you who accept lies as truth and can't think for themselves. The Hunter Biden story is so full of holes (I stopped taking it seriously when I found out the computer repair store was 3000 miles away from where he lives) it's not funny... You are unable and unwilling to question your own information... or disinformation in this case.
I take it back, you are far and away much more than a fool, the irony like the stupidity shines out from your post.

This thread, the biden thread (which I dared criticise him, and the thread was then closed) and the Trump thread feels like you cannot criticise Biden.

Any criticism is automatically "Russian based" and therefore dismissed. As is any spelling mistakes, grammar errors etc. Dismissed. They must be a looney, etc etc. It very quickly gets personal and sometimes nasty. I got some pretty nasty personal messages too after daring to criticise Biden.

I dont like Trump. But I dont like Biden either. Which is unfortunate, as it seems we cant be like this. We cant have discussion.

Oh, this isnt unique to Pistonheads by the way.
This thread was aimed at big tech censorship of free speech, of course the usual happened where any perceived criticism of anything democrat related is turned into pages of name calling and "Whataboutery" by the lefties on here.

They ARE the self appointed thought police but just too dumb to see it. their problem is they have swallowed the lies and are going to look foolish when their idols are exposed so cling to any excuse.

If you want the truth then do your own research ;0)

You melon.

In Nineteen Eighty Four you can’t openly discuss anything not in line with right-think.

Twitter and FB, and mainstream outlets telling you what is real and not real is them trying to impose “big brother”, a monotone perspective on matters.

People should be free to be misled.

“We” fought the Nazi’s to be free to be right or wrong in each other’s perspectives.
We fought the Nazi’s to be free to choose, and not have others choose on our behalf, even if that means we’re wrong.

Even if that leads us down a dark and destructive path, we need to be free to walk it.

If you took anything from Nineteen Eight Four it should be that.
The inducement of terror/fear in the idea that to think differently to how society thinks you should is a crime.

You should be free to think any old mad idea.
If democracy is undermined because of that, then what on Earth is the issue that allows one of the two people on the voting list to be so undesirable?
The system is broken if Trump is so bad... not the voters.
I can only assume you're drunk....

At least you managed to get the name of the novel correct... although you probably just picked that up from me.

There's no such thing as "right speak" or "right-speak" in the novel, in the novel it's referred to only as newspeak which is in reference to the fascist concept of palingenesis and modernism. In Nineteen Eighty-Four this is depicted as the reduction of words from the English language, it's simplification, reorganisation of adjectives and adverbs (I.E. very being replaced with 'double plus').

Also... we are free to examine these ideas. I can go to the library and pick up a copy of Mein Kamf... or Marx for that matter.

What you forget is that we're also free to criticise people who hold extremist ideas. This is the problem Dagisty has... that we're not blindly following his ideals.
Ha ha ha, I will give you a clue, there is no such thing in the novel as "right speak" (Or in his post by the way). You are so "Ungood" its hilarious.

I have only copied this so you can not delete before mr whippy gets the pleasure of pointing out your continuing ignorance of a novel you claim to have read
