I'm an instructor with the Army Cadets, we have residential camps several times a year and accommodation has always been male and female 10 person rooms. Covid has meant that we are now limiting it to 4 people in a 10 person room, so there is already pressure on the numbers we can bring. On our last weekend we had to also find two single rooms for cadets who self identified when they got onto camp.

It's going to cause a lot of problems, and will limit the opportunities available to young people. Annual camp next year will be the only holiday for many of our children. If we have to reduce numbers any further to cover "just in case" it will be a shame.

Did you think they genuinely had some identity needs? As if you get a single room out of it, some may take the option.
