He recorded the interaction in his Tesla. I don't think he has done himself any favours this time by doing so.

Surely they have him bang to rights for failing to stop and wasting police time? I would like to think the outcome of this is to ban him from driving for a reasonable period.

What could have been a 5min routine stop turned into something like 45mins of messing around and taking out 3 patrol cars from other duties. That isn't even mentioning the undoubted media fallout and subsequent required response from the Met. If people are allowed to ignore police instruction without repercussions the whole system falls over.

Get him into court.

Anyone know why in the 3/3 video he posted where he is talking to the police he has his left hand down the front of his trousers holding his c***? never lets go of it throughout the entire sequence.

And about the 20 second mark he appears to drop something on the floor - maybe get him for littering as well

The 27-year-old told the BBC his phone was between his thighs, and accused the Met of "over-policing".

Who keeps their phone between their thighs while driving unless they're using it/or has been using it.
Surely anyone with a new Tesla stores the phone on the charging mat and if they want to make a call they use hands free - unless of course he has 2 phones?

I remain baffled by the video footage though. He clearly drops something on the floor on purpose and if you look he did it at the exact moment that all 4 coppers in view had no line of sight of him doing so - but why post that footage online if he really was doing something dodgy?

Either he is properly stupid or he is trolling all of us.

PS if he's an international athlete why isn't he in Munich at the European Champs ? Where does his money come from ?
He is just not competitive anymore. A best of 47 sec in the 400M this season means he is not even at the races in sprinting terms.

Probably too many jaunts across London at 4am in the morning.

I am wondering why he wasn't searched. Surely his actions warranted a closer look. He said he proved to the police he was not on his phone and they let him go.

Really? how on earth did he prove that?

There were probably no grounds for a search of him or the vehicle - being out in the early hours isn't sufficient grounds on its own
Refusing to stop should be grounds enough surely. I am perplexed how he got away scot free with his actions.

The message this puts out is very damaging and makes the job of policing practically impossible.

His actions should definitely have been punished. A driving ban at the very least.

The police cannot give the message out that it is ok to ignore instruction.
