So Winky has recorded an interview, to be broadcast this weekend, in which he emotionally describes the moment when his baby daughter died, whilst the camera cuts to Sarah dabbing the tears away.

Now let me be clear; the loss of a child is a terrible, terrible thing for any couple to have to endure, and I wish them no ill around that fact.

However - could there possibly be a more despicably cynical attempt to hang on to power than this? It was EIGHT years ago; and whoops, all of a sudden, on the eve of an election, he feels the need to open his heart to the nation on TV - and on the Piers fking Morgan show, of all places.

I had an intense dislike for Brown before today; however, this stunt places him quite firmly in the "loathsome" category, and I sincerely hope that the scorn of the nation rings in his ears as he loads the removal van.

I agree - none of us would get in the slightest bit upset if asked questions about the time a close relative/child/whoever died - in our fking arms..ofcourse not. Especially after 8 years, he's despicable.
I think what you're trying to say is, none of us would pretend to blub in front of a potential employer in the desperate hope that we might somehow convince them to extend our contract.

It's 8 years ago, yes - remember that in that time he has never previously had to rely on the electorate to obtain the keys to No. 10, and now that he does, he'll use anything which his levels of desperation can generate.
