Venables allegedly possessed child porn

On radio 4 just now, a paper is alleging Venables was taken in with police investigating " a serious sex offence"...

Jack straw has threatened to sue if they say anymore but has agreed to meet James Bulger's mother. He had confirmed the offence was extremely serious

It's the sun, they advise the drugs and fight story were off the mark,.unable to print any more details as government believe will affect the trial and his identity so will take an injunction and gag them

Straw had been forced into making a statement. He has confirmed its "an extremely serious offence" and due to investigation and trial prejudice won't reveal more

AFAIK to be employed by one of these companies you have to have a SIA licence which would require a police check.

Or am I wrong in this assumption?

It does make you wonder.

When they were ten, Thompson afterwards and throughout the trial showed no remorse at all, Venables on the other hand did, and gave a 'better' impression to those who were around him.

There is no way someone could go with another to that degree, at the best at some point he would have to be standing back and let it happen if he had any feelings. Reports of that are none, so the assumption is that they did it all 50-50.

Perhaps he was smart enough to plan ahead from the start, I'm feeling that way, as if he had remorse then the 'violent' aspect of the new allegations shouldn't exist.

also the papers have said they are not yet allowed to say how the material on his laptop was discovered- which indicates something unsual occured for him to be caught.

revealed probation chiefs KNEW Venables was a
potential sex offender because of the nature of
James' torture and killing.
Former Detective Superintendent Albert Kirby
said: "The sexual nature of the torture and
murder of James was never hidden from the court
or the authorities. However they deemed it was
safe to release these boys when they were just
18. I'm concerned some of the issues relating to
what happened to James were forgotten in a
relatively short space of time."
The sexual aspect of James' murder was
presented to Preston Crown Court at the pair's
1994 trial. But it was not dwelled on to spare
James's mother Denise from further upset and
after agreement it would make little difference to
the eventual outcome of the trial.
The authorities who took the decision to release
Venables and Thompson were aware that when
James' body was found on a railway line his
tracksuit bottoms, underpants, socks and trainers
had been removed.
Cops could prove the clothing had been removed
BEFORE he was tortured and beaten with bricks
and an iron bar because they were virtually free
of bloodstains.
The pathology exam also found injuries to
James's genitals that could only have been caused
by sexual abuse. Mr Kirby added: "The sexual
nature of the crime was dealt with in a delicate
way to protect the family but the authorities
must have been aware you don't strip someone
from the waist down just for the hell of it..."

Think was never confirmed either way, read a very interesting piece by some pshychoanalyst who went into the mind of killers in the past who had in some way 'de-humanised' the victim inorder to kill them easier so James was seen as a doll. One suggestion was they did the battery thing after seeing the'Chucky' film, saw him as a doll and saw a quote somewhere attributed to Thompson about the batteries who said he was trying to to bring him back to life...

According to papers, Venables was allegedly identified by the public, cops were called to get him home safe. They spotted a laptop. The laptop contained Grade 4 (out of 5 max) child porn. Grade 4 is when the material had a 'violent element' to it.
