Seems simple enough. We are currently in the process of purchasing a new house so do not have any more money spare.

I have been advised though not to apply for any finance products until we have completed on our mortgage.

We have our offer lodged with the solicitor all signed off but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

I'd also rather not sit on deck chairs but I can wait if required hehe

Edit: I'm not worried about the sofa depreciating etc but am quite happy to stick it on 6 months 0%

As above, avoid any new finance or credit until mortgage has been released.
Yeah this, also don't sign for any furniture/fixtures and fittings until you've exchanged..... (although you probably knew this)
Thanks chap, exchange or complete though?

Where is it from?

Half these places quote 0% until you order it
Indeed, I have no hesitation the deal will be the same but it is 7 weeks without a delivery that I am trying to avoid.

Do you need to decide now or can you sit on it for a while?
Sofa, this is the best advice.
Excellent puns. Would read again.

I made do with a couple of garden chairs when I first moved in.

In fact because I now had a driveway I went straight out and bought a TVR before I bought a sofa. The seats are surprisingly comfortable in one of those!

Finally found a really good sofa on Gumtree a month after moving in, similar to the post above they were moving house and couldn't take it with them and so I got it for peanuts despite it only being 6 months old.

[disclaimer] I was single at the time of my house purchase and therefore my immediate priorities might not be representative of your own [/disclaimer]
hehe

Yes I have been there and done the garden lounger for 12 weeks before which is why i’m not so keen on doing it again. In fact I already have a sofa that doesn’t match, i’m just keen to get the good stuff in.

A tvr won’t fit in the garage. Not with all the other toys I intend on putting in there!

Technically you should be safe in exchange, very difficult for it to fall through then (but not unheard of), safest is completion but may not have it delivered for a week or 2 = nothing to sit on.

Separately I got my sofa second hand when I moved into my first flat 4 years ago for £250 (big modular leather corner), still going strong
Thought so much. Lead time is 7 weeks though. I guess i’ll wait.

In theory.

In practice the sofa company just loads the interest onto the price, plus a bit more since the sort of people who typically buy from interest free furniture shops won't look any further than the monthly amount.
Of course but seeing as I can't buy the sofa anywhere else what would you suggest?
