I draw PAYE of £7200 from one business and £4800 form another, and have done so for a several years now.

Normally HMRC allocate £7800 of my personal allowance to PAYE one, and the balance to PAYE two.

This year, HMRC in their infinite wisdom have decided to allocate my personal allowance equally between the two PAYE's.

mad

My overall liability won't change of course, it's just how they get paid it.

Phone them and tell them the split you want. They will change it for you.
The Tax Code notification mentions an online method I think, so I'm going to have a go at that next week.

It's just bloody annoying that I have to and they can't use my income to make a logical allocation.

HMRC expects taxpayers to take charge of their own tax affairs. This is their new "digital"! thinking in action. You are all going to have to get used to it.
Well yes, passing the buck that a very simple computer programme would solve.

I managed to find they way to notify them online, but they certainly don't make it simple to find.
