What will the excuse be this time? Is there any point in running the arguments again about how to do system updates properly?

Out of interest which banks haven't had massive balls ups?

Not when you don't have a mortgage it isn't.

CEO claims system was tested 9 times, and claiming only nominee accounts are affected. I call bullst.

So now they're claiming fixed, but deliberately limiting access as a load reduction measure. So you still cannot log in. Keep trying they say. Morons.

Yep me too, it's annoying though. Especially with the data integrity issues. Seems as if it's when migrating data from the old rented legacy space with Lloyds. Who iirc had a big problem in 2017 around the same sort of issues, data migration from a legacy system.

On the matter of a bank refusing to accept transactions while they upgrade. Isn't that what they did by shutting down over a whole weekend?

Now when the next banking day arrives on the Monday, and automated payments are timed to arrive and depart, that's when it gets complicated.

A numpty question, if the transfer to the new system doesn't work, is it beyond the possibility to just fire up the whole old system until you figure out the issues?

Well, there is something funny still going on.

Managed to get a logon screen finally.

Two fields, customer id, password.
Next screen, memorable info, pull down fields, 2nd letter, 5th letter, 11th letter and so on.

New system, first screen looks same,
Second screen, additional field to re-enter password. Plus drop down boxes, 3rd letter etc.

Get in, all accounts there, quickly reconciled the one account with regular movements, all the rest looked to be there and the correct amount based on a quick overview screen.

System bombed.

Try to log in again, after some delays due to limiting access, get login screen again.

First screen same.
Second screen, the additional password field now missing.

Enter data, accounts missing from overview list.

Now really getting annoyed. Thick end of 40k they're fking about with.

Managed to get back in, several fails to recognise correct password, but eventually all accounts that should be there with correct reconciliation possible with our records. Nothing there that shouldn't be.

Let's hope fixed. Website still feels as if something not quite right, very very slow and clunky.

Rapidly coming to the conclusion that TSB are screwed, really really, and to quote the CEO "on its knees" screwed.

So you go into the bank to pay a bill, yes could do it online, usually do, :sigh: but literally walking past the door whilst doing other stuff so why not pop in.

So apart from the fecking queue, everyone having trouble, it's your turn, you hand over the bill, stick the card in the machine reader, bang in the pin, all done and dusted.

You think.

Then the teller comes out with a series of questions and after a bit of cross questioning you realise that, quote 'due to the new system' unquote, despite you using the card, the card they have spent the last year imploring you to use in the interest of efficiency and security, they have not a single bleeding clue from which of your accounts the money had been withdrawn. Staggering.

I got an e-mail saying that the interest rate on our Classic Plus accounts was going to rise from 3% to 5%, and that this increase would not be taken away after a year.

We have always used several banks, not least because of spreading stuff around re the FSCS protection limits.

However in the process of removing stuff from TSB, only keeping a few Classic Plus accounts and churning into regular savers to take advantage of the 5% interest rates.

I know a lot of the scare stories about funds being removed by fraudsters have involved the account holders being conned by phone fraudsters, and we all like to think we wouldn't fall for it, but they are getting very plausible. We were contacted by the mobile phone SIM swap scammers posing as our phone providers to get onto a better rate, they got the bum's rush, but very plausible.
