Car Insurance for a 17 year old advice

My Daughter is 17, having driving lessons and is looking for a car ( so far on her list is a Fiat 500 or an Up )

Which brings me to the expensive business of Insurance. Cheapest way to do it having a parent as a named Driver ? Only insuring whilst driving ( not sure how that works )

Black box seems a certainty,

Any experiences / recommendations would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance

Quick update, Admiral look to be coming in with a great price on Confused.com, both parents added ( late forties....) cheaper than I thought
