Hi,

I've just had my decking cleaned, bare wood now. So, should I treat it with something? Oil or a stain? What's best? Or should I leave it as it is?

Thanks,

Dan

Liberon decking oil from toolstation.
I did this. Used the clear oil and I'm really pleased with it. It's been on for 24 hours now and it's still a little bit sticky! It does say it takes 24-48 hours to dry though. Looks great and gives a really nice colour. The oil looks like it should last a long time.

Does oil actualy soak in or does it sit on top like a paint. I want to treat my deck, but not with something that flakes or peels with wear.
It is literally like an engine oil! It soaks into the wood, gives it a slightly darker colour and preserves it. Doesn't actually paint it, like stain.

I think you have to make sure you don't put on too much oil, as it will only soak in so much.
