A cat has taken a liking to trying to get into our house through open windows. not sure if the cat is stray or not and even if it wasnt, not sure whether the owner could do much about it

what would be a good way to keep it away apart from keeping all doors and windows closed?

whilst the water route is one of the more inhumane things id considered it might be the only option

how long will it stay away if either my wife or 15 month old son manage to blast it with a gun that im about to buy on amazon....

I was thinking of an actual water pistol, rather than a super-soaker. The latter would be a bit harsh.
in fairness my wife and i are averse to getting anything resembling a gun so might have to modify a empty washing up bottle...

Haven't read much of the above posts but ammonia is meant to be good!

For a human it feckin stinks, so for a cat.............

& you can buy the stuff over the counter.

Mark your boundaries as would a cat then simples! Feckin stinks for a couple off days but you have marked your boundaries!

Maybe wear goggles cause that stuff stings the eyes!

Either that or stick some Temezepan in a big feck off cod let the feckers eat it & club them!

Feckin hate cats!
ill try with the water first and then call you for the above it it fails. i dont mind cats that much but their poo is more offensive than dogs

this thread has been far more enlightening than i expected... i have absolutely no intention of doing anything beyond the minimum to ensure the furry critter does not go where he is not welcome. having said that, if he ever did casually saunter into my sons room after he'd dropped one in his nappy, im pretty sure the stink would knock him out cold
