The plastic pipe of my boiler flue seems to have shattered in the frost. Can this plastic pipe bit be purchased on its own and screwed back in?

As i'm disabled I can't get up a ladder to take a look so would like to able to buy the part and get a mate to help out rather than get an engineer who might just tell me the whole thing needs replaced.

Hmmmm

The flue runs across and above my kitchen ceiling into my integral garage.

Does this mean the entire lenght has to be replaced???? and how would that be done?

Sorry I know nothing about boilers but i'm starting to see this geting expensive frown.

Guys thanks so much for the replies. I am going to try and get a gas safe guy to come out and take a look. Though I have phoned 2 already last week and no one has returned my calls

Can your flue be accessed for inspection? You may have issues as they are supposed to be accessible for service from this year

Arrrghhhhhhhh FFS.

Right then according to that link I may be covered under the building insurance scheme as the house is under ten years old and the flue has become defective. I suppose they will say the damage is external and not their problem.

I always thought that was a stupid way of installing the heating.

My boiler is mounted in the integral garage on the other side of my kitchen wall. It then goes up and over the kitchen ceiling for a lenght of 3.5meters and then out the wall at the rear of the house. So do I need inspection holes to see the entire lenght of the installation?

Do I need to buy this http://www.heatingtrader.co.uk/horizontal-flue-kit...

Current WB boilers have a different flue terminal. It's often telescopic complete with elbow. I believe around the £60 price.

You'll have to be able to remove the last section to refit a new section anyhow. Is it accessible? If not, you might need to retro fit inspection hatches to comply with new regs.

It's turning into a pain for you. Also, the flue is technically a gas man job.
Thanks so much for the replies?

Jaysus just what I needed right now.

Is there an ideal way of installing these hatches in a plasterboard ceiling like some sort of PVC door job a builder could put in. Or are the gas men fitting these now?

I need to fit enough to see the entire lenght (3.5meters) right?

I was planning on moving house in the near future so I might as well get this done now.

I have already phoned two gas men over a week ago and neither have got back to me.
