Painting shed and fence, need some inspiration!
Discussion
I need to treat my new shed and a couple of fences, and thinking I might move away from browns and greens to something a bit more interesting but I don't want it to look naff.
The shed was new in April, it was pre-treated but I was told I should treat it again after a few months of being weathered, one of the fences is also new and the back fence has been there a while and needs some treatment. Picture of it currently below. I will be putting in some narrow raised beds along each fence line and want a colour that will look good behind some lush green plants. Decking will remain a natural colour using clear decking oil, and thinking about either keeping the shed fence a clear oil based treatment, or going for a slate blue/black colour like these:-
as it currently looks:-
Any opinions welcome, and also feel free to post pictures of your garden fence/shed if you're happy with the look, it might change my mind!

No advice on colour but if the slats are overlapped upwards on your side (i.e. the slot between them goes down to your neighbour's side) then be careful of painting as it seems to be quite easy to get lots of dribbles of paint running down the other side of the fence. Ask my neighbour for details of how to do this badly.
Thanks, hadn't thought of that!LeadFarmer said:
I love the Cuprinol 'Garden Shades' range. Ive painted my shed & fence using their 'Old English Green'.
Thanks, yes been looking at the the garden shades, and Urban Slate is winning at the moment. I do like that green, but might not be enough of a contrast against the plants for what I want.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
