Apparently they are the dogs danglies for plastic Windows. Have been recommended by a few people, about twice the price of "standard" upvc.

Just wondered if they live up to the hype befor I go ahead with them?

I've been quoted £7500 for 17 "normal" plastic Windows, and £14500 for the residence 9.

This is with standard white handles on the inside, some Georgian bars added, including fitting and a couple of steel lintels for some windows that don't have one (old house), all fitted, also a lot of extra work removing old secondary glazing on the inside included. May upgrade to the black cast iron style handles.. Have to see how much they add.

All seems pretty reasonable to me. I think it makes sense to go for the R9, it'll look dramatically better on the old house. Going for plain white as thats what the existing wooden Windows are.

I haven't gone as far as getting a quote for hardwood but my bits of digging around suggest that they'll be more again, by quite some margin.

It's a toughie as its a lovely little old cottage and we really like the house but it's not the "forever home"... We'll be here about 7 years I think, so still makes sense to do a proper job and something that'll be attractive to any potential buyers in the future.
