A while back on Facebook I seen a post with a warning of chalk symbols appearing on properties as targets of potential robberies. As with most things on Facebook I dismissed it as a load of paranoid nonsense.

Tonight however I return home and there is a chalk symbol of a fish drawn next to my car.

Should I be concerned or am I just being paranoid?

It does sound stupid, I know.

It's up a drive so doubt it was kids, no risk of flooding here either as half of Glasgow would be flooded before me.

I just thought it was a bit odd when I seen it and remember seeing something about it. Anyway, here is the fish in question.

Definitely not a pressure washer mark, it wasn't there before I got home tonight.

On further investigation it's not even chalk, it's uv ink that can only be seen when the security light is on...most odd.

I'm not too worried about it, any proper theif would either just steal the car or kick the door in for the keys instead of leaving an obvious sign that they intend to imo

A foreign site but the very symbol is there right enough. 'A fish-shaped sign warns that "the object" is protected by alarms.'

Must not have had a symbol for cctv and a baseball bat hehe

Talking to our local police on an unrelated matter and they warned us that certain types would be interested in our dog and advised the method mentioned here.
I have two dogs as well.

It doesn't make sense, which is why I think it's bks.
I agree, i thought as much when i first read about it. Was just rather odd how it's managed to appear at the wheel of my car. I'm sure any potential burglar would just send a text or phone someone instead of putting a symbol in the hope someone else stumbles across it.

Anyway, all cars present this morning, think they had more chance of being blown away last night!

Why the Hell would a burglar inform a competitor that there's goods to be stolen? He'd take it himself! It doesn't make any more sense than astrology does.
It doesn't make any sense. The question remains as to how it got there and why though.

So, it was drawn on, at half past one in the afternoon by a middle aged, well dressed man. He walked up the drive and drew it on without looking at the car or in the house.

Still none the wiser, local religious nut spreading the message of Christianity? Who knows. I might pop into the police station later on and see if they know who it is or have any other reports.

I'm not that concerned, would like to know why someone would do such a thing though. confused

Well, no real update I'm afraid, cars still there and the house is fine.

Just in case it was a genuine sign I left my own offering to assist.
