What washing machine?
Discussion
After 17 years our trusty Bosch Maxx washing machine appears to have gone terminal. We bought it from John Lewis in October 1999 for the princely sum of £459.
It has served us well dealing with 3 children who are now all grown up and potentially leaving home.
What do I replace it with? Looking at Bosch prices it appears that I can get something at a similar price but that takes no account of inflation since 1999.
We don't need to go overboard as the usage has definitely dropped off over the past couple of years (twice a week as opposed to daily!). Any recommendations?

Our 9 year old John Lewis washing machine went bang this weekend as well (drum bearing went and I can't be arsed to change it) . Have ordered a cheapish Zanussi something or other that does a 10Kg load.
Some will advise you to spend many hundreds on a Miele and others will say buy something cheap that you like - I'm in the latter camp
That's my dilemma. If I could get another one of the same quality then it might last such that I couldn't give a damn . Anyway I'm just trying to short-cut the search process so I appreciate any current recommendations. Some will advise you to spend many hundreds on a Miele and others will say buy something cheap that you like - I'm in the latter camp
Thanks or all the suggestions. Looked at the LG's, Samsung and Miele. Decided that the Miele would have to outlive me to make it viable
So after doing all the comparisons ended up going for another Bosch....Bigger and faster than the one it's replacing but costs less. Fingers crossed it lasts the same time!
