I lol'd at the BBQ in the bedroom (why?!)
I read every sentence in your post but still burst out laughing when I spotted the BBQ.
Must be Australian, breakfast barbie in bed.

I think it might be one of those married moments
"darling get rid of that ugly cheap barbecue outside, the estate agents are coming today and we need to make the place look respectable in the photos"
"ok dear, I'll move it"

Another one squeezing a new build into part of a previous house's garden.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/new-homes-for-sale/prop...

All the garden it has is to the front, so little or no windows on the rear. Marble floors everywhere. And this glass walled room with a tiny high up window is called on the map "dining room".

Now I don't mind modern style (grand design) properties with large glass wall windows but this is just half hearted and really rather sad, looks more like a modern house from the 1970s. Stonework on the outside is nice, that's about it. It is in a fantastic location though.

Another room with a glass internal wall, called "family room" on the plan and is next to the dining room.

Ps. More internal glass walls, this time from the dining room into the breakfast room at the front, due to the poor light at the rear.

Its semi-ghastly to begin with, but the real nightmare is just how incredibly incongruous that house is on that plot next to the bungalow.
And 'elite area' sounds incredibly, incredibly wky.
Maybe they have weekly LAN parties and prefer space games.

I like the look of the interior as perhaps a shop or an office but I think I'd end up in A&E within a week as I like to walk around in just socks and that place is deadly.

Also, it's doesn't look very homely. I've seen hotel rooms that are more welcoming.
Looked better before the exterior was botoxed - https://www.google.com/maps/@51.6629713,-0.1810051...

When an estate agent calls the property "unusually quirky" you know it's going to be batst crazy.

£155,000 for 9 bed in Scarborough - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Yes, that's wallpaper.

I have no idea what's going on here, but the bats seem happy.

Things that go bump in the night.

Did they get their measurements wrong when starting at both ends and then not quite meeting in the middle?

I bet the wind whistles through there.

A two faced house.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/prope...

Rear, quite normal and designed to maximise the views across the countryside.

this however is what you see when you approach the house, the back of the garage, metal stairs and the entrance door being up a few steps under the cross over and lots of bare brick. Utility room rood to the right.

not what I would call welcoming.

Who cares what the tradesman's entrance looks like?

Looks lovely from the side that matters.
That's the front, not the rear. That is what you and you and your guests would see when you go through the gates and approach the house, I think it's hideous and that could have been made much better.

Check out the internal photos. Love the bucket in the bath, just adds that extra touch of class. Also the added bonus of estate agent in the mirror, amateurs.

What is happening here, is it some kind of dodgy factory?

Lets try this one which appeared in my area on a right move alert.

So new it's not even on streetview and far too big for the bit of garden or garage it was built on, also seems to widen as it goes back too which would annoy if you're looking for square rooms!

I can't work out if it's just the fish-eye lens the estate agent is using or the odd shape of the house but the roof pitch in photo 8 looks very odd.

Isn't that a collection of flats? That is the only door at the front, the large bit of the right has no door.
