Does anyone know about garage doors?

I have one of these units that opens the door.
With this controller
The remote control is not working, i have put a new battery in it and tried changing tbe 'channel' . The door works fine if you just use the wall switch so it is either the sender or the receiver.
Does anyone have experience of these things. Are these remote controls well known for packing in? If so i will just buy another one.
If its likely to be the receiver thats a slightly mire expensive proposition..

I had an actuator just like yours but with a different remote control. I gave the whole shebang away when I had new doors so I can't photograph it, sorry. If it has never worked maybe it's just incompatible.
