My divertor valve needs replacing but with Christmas and a new year holiday funds are a little light until after payday. I currently have the hot water on for much less time than the heating but the only way to ensure the heating comes on with the timer is to have the hot water set for the same times. Will my bills be much higher having the hot water on for longer lengths of time in conjunction with the heating? or is it cheaper to just manually divert the valve with the heating as this is the only way the heating will come on without the hot water.
