Buying a house which also has a flat

So we’re on the lookout for the next house purchase . We’ve seen a few houses which also have self contained flats which have caught my eye.

Would these be more difficult to purchase (we’ll need a mortgage!) ? From what I can gather they’re on separate titles so 2 sets of council tax etc.

That’s as I suspected. However par for the course - our first house was easy to buy, all the rest have been a royal PITA! Which lenders meant out of interest?
