Hello all.

My mums house (1860-built cast concrete house) has a larder in the basement (Split level, back of the house basement is at ground level, front it is underground).

The larder has a retaining wall on two sides (Rear and right side as you look into it) the front and left sides are the dining room (Where the door is) and another cupboard, respectively.

The cupboard has one vent that is on the side of the wall where the other cupboard is and ejects near the fridge in the Kitchen. It is about 10 inches by 6 inches.

If you leave the door on the larder closed all the time it will get a bit damp and mouldy in there.

Dont think the house has a DPC.or anything.

There is no electrics in the larder (Bar a light) and none nearby.

What can I do about this situation?

I was thinking of putting another vent on the door so air could move about.
Also researching battery powered air con units or fans.

Thoughts please thanks.

Thanks, dehumdifier is out of the question due to the lack of power, by the PC fans, assume these could run off a battery?
