Hi All,

We’re having a 7m x 3m oak orangery installed next month but struggling with the 3 pane bi-fold.

The builder says he always has issues with oak bi-fold doors and suggested aluminium.

As we want the oak look, does anyone have any recommendations on oak bi-fold or oak clad aluminium ones?

Thanks

Thank you will check them out!

I was getting scared we were going to pay out the price of a 911 and get something that looked like this:

Very nice!

What’s your opinion on leaving to silver or preserving the colour?

I can see the point in fitting aluminium if leaving to silver, but the golden oak colour is much nicer in my opinion. Just not sure about painting every year.

Haha exactly!

This looks okay - only aluminium doors, rest is oak

Hi All,

Progress is going well, foundations dug, bricks starting and walls being removed.

Windows will all be solid oak and the bi-fold will be engineered oak. Will give the lot a coat in a UV oil.

Onto floor tiles - we are having a wet floor heating so opted for tiles.

There are some great pictures on pinterest and houzz of the inside flooring flowing seamlessly to the paving. In the real world, I can't find anything that matches that I think will look good.

Has anyone done similar and has photo evidence?

Thanks

Very nice!

So we are west facing for the back garden where the doors in question will be.

The hedges are being left to grow and have planted a cherry blossom tree opposite so it shouldn’t be full sun, but currently it is.

Cheers

Everything ordered and in progress now, too late to change.

Interested in different types of UV oil though, any recommendations?

Having a last look around before I transfer due to the 11-13 week lead time....

ID systems use a Sunflex door, which is £5k for 2.7m wide, 3 pannel engineered oak finish

Google Reviews have some quite negative comments, which is putting me off a bit and the builder who doesn't want to use them and wants me to deal direct.... so I asked for his recommendation. This is Creative Doors Direct who deliver in 72 hours and cost 1/2 the price + a lot of good reviews online - any experience anyone?

Just tried Timber Windows and Doors also who have similar reviews to ID systems but similar doors were £7.5k
