Drill / Driver for Home Use
Discussion
Looking for a replacement drill & driver for home use.
Current set are a Macallister cheapo cordless set I got from B&Q about 10 years ago.
Batteries now last about 5 min each and the drill would struggle to get through a rice pudding skin.
Not looking to blow the bank but want something reasonably decent.
Happy to look at both corded and cordless.
Recommendations?

Screwfix actually have a couple in their sale right now.....
two things I would say about the Dewalt drill you linked to from Amazon earlier...........1.5 Ah batteries = poor these days
Replaceable carbon brushes = joke marketing for old school as I cannot remember the days when brushes weren't made of Carbon
or replaceable!!

Or

This impact driver is on offer, can't find it for this price anywhere else and not been this low on Amazon before.
What's the Ryobi stuff like, might commit me to one system
Ryobi R18IDP-120S 18V ONE+ Cordless Impact Driver Starter Kit (1 x 2.0Ah) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FM4MPK4/ref=cm_sw_r...
Prime price is £78

Still haven't bought one
The Ryobi one above is still on offer - could match that to a drill.
Or this pack from Dewalt.

Which would you go for?

Dan, have you actually bought anything yet? It's been two months now...
:Hehe:Erm... No. Built a rather large climbing frame, refurbed the garden, sorted the garage... All with the old set that meant changing battery every 20 minutes and a borrowed cabled one.
Not even sure why I need replacements now
I'm still half sort of looking as I've got another task looming that'll require them... This seems a good deal

Rather than start another similar thread, thought I’d jump on this.
After a new drill/driver to replace my 12 year old Makita Combi.
What’s the opinion of this drill/driver combo offer from screwfix @ £249?

Alternatively this one for £50 less - it's the model up from what I bought 6 months ago, for the same price.
Guess it comes down to preference over brand?

The house is a new build so the use will be quite limited initially (flatpack furniture, shelfs, a bit of drilling into wood and brick walls).
I admire your optimism Edited by MatteAva on Monday 1st June 14:06
Our house was a new build and was part of the reason for needing new tools
