NHBC warranty on new build (3 years old) for draft and noise

Will this be covered?

Drafts from the windows and the wind noise from the roof seem to be getting progressively worse. I can live with the drafts but the wind noise is seriously affecting my sleep now. Anything over a breeze and there is a whirring noise (think a loud industrial fan or something) that rattles right through the gable end of the house.

How do i approach it? Will it be covered with the 10 year warranty? Goto the builders first or contact NHBC?

Whirring - a neighbour has a similar sound and it seems to be the soffits/bargeboard that does it for him.
Have you identified the area in the loft that causes it? Could it be some vents or even the inlet for the MVHR system if you have one?

Got a lend of ladders and you're spot on. Up the attic on a windy night and the wind is coming through the outlet rattling through the polystyrene pipes that lead to the rooms. My house faces West and being in Scotland getting battered by westerly winds all the time they put them on the West facing roof and not the East.

Not sure how i can fix this one. I've emailed the builders. I'm still waiting on original snagging being fixed (sunken driveway) so hoping they might have a look as a goodwill gesture. Also builders about as phases 4 & 5 are yet to be built.

Depends. They've been getting a bit bad press recently. Local council and government have been involved in the project as its an "urban regeneration scheme". They've also been pretty sound so far. Fingers crossed. Got the foreman's personal mobile number somewere from original snag complaints so will see
