I keep on seeing aga's as something desirable/a must have for the kitchen. Obviously I'm missing something here since I honestly can't see anything desirable about them. I realise that looks are subjective but, IMO, they even fail on that score so why are they so popular?

My gran used to regularly clean up at the local show's home baking competition.
Well it’s nice to hear that she was fastidious. Was she any good at making cakes?
You know, before posting I read it back to myself and thought, naah, nobody's going to shame themselves by making crap jokes by deliberately misinterpreting 'clean up'... hehe
this is PistonHeads - pendantry [sic] matters hehe

TBF my late grandmother had an aga-style cooker in her house (and yes it supplied: heating, hot-water and its raison d'être - namely something to cook on). She loathed it with a passion and would, I suspect, be quite amused to learn that these things are now desirable/trendy.
