why the dislike for bungalows?

just wondering why do the Brits (on the whole) so dislike bungalows? I've seen it on various property programmes where someone wouldn't live in a bungalow but thinks nothing of living in a flat... apologies apartment

previous owner of our one converted to a chalet bungalow a while back - kids have gone now but really see no point in moving up-stairs so more than happy with single storey living

This is my self build, calling it a bungalow seems wrong to me
