Hi All,

I have additional parking on the side of my concrete driveway, that when I moved in was just grass.
And after parking my old landies on, it soon looked like a mud pit.
So I dug it up and put down decent membrane, wacked down type 1 and put some loose shingle on top....
Perfect for parking cars on, job done....

Problem I have is now I want to put some sheltered storage on there, and ideally a safe space to be able to work on.
I did have a decent Clarke framed garage, but with the recent winds, I took it down as it looks like it was about to take off, even with over engineering tie downs!
Below is the space I have to play with, I don't have the exact measurements on me, but it's more than big enough for a generic double garage size.

Budget is low, so no lavish outbuildings will be built.
My initial thought is that I can concrete some posts in for a basic carport style, and semi seal the sides up to keep the weather off, then lift the loose shingle up and pave the area in the carport, so I can work on it safely. Like similar below

Or maybe I'll be better off getting a digger in and pulling it up and concrete with a prefab garage. Only thing to take into consideration is that I have ground anchors to one side, but there is still plenty of room around them to build something.
Any ideas or inspiration would be much appreciated! Thanks

Thanks for your advice, I didn't realise about the open on two sides rule, I'll have a look into it.
I have gone through my local councils advice page on planning for outbuildings and garage etc, but its very vague.
I might just contact them direct and ask their advice on what I am allowed to do in that area. To save heartbreak later on down the line !
