Which vacuum cleaner?

Got an old Sebo, which has been great, but the cord no longer retracts, attachments are broken & it gets very hot when used. Just had a mix of new carpets & wooden floors elsewhere. Need a new cleaner. What’s good? Do cordless ones loose their charge quickly? Cheers

Thanks all. My mother had a Henry, which worked really well. Was thinking cordless perhaps easier on stairs etc. Cheers
