Hi, through a recent recommendation on here I have purchased a Sunbeem Honey locust tree.

It's about 4 to 5 ft tall at the moment with two main trunks (if you can call them that yet) and then one fairlu large side branch growing off one trunk.

Obviously I would like the tree to get taller before it starts going sideways.

Can i remove this green branch without killing the tree?

I don't mind the two trunks I will just keep them fixed close together until at height.

I did think about removing one of the trunks all together so I can train one fairly upright then let it spread but I'm not sure if removing best part of half the tree would kill it.

What do the green fingered among you think.

Here is where the trunk splits

It was 35 quid purchased off the Internet so could not see it or pick an individual plant.

I will wait until Autumn then remove one of the stems, if it lives great if not I will get another one.

I see what you did there.
