We are in the process of installing a new kitchen and whilst I am leaving Mrs M to go through the design (my comments are obstructive and not welcome), I have decided to source appliances rather than accept what the kitchen company are suggesting and include their own mark up.

We currently have an integrated fridge freezer (John Lewis own brand - wouldn't recommend another one), but am needing a seperate Fridge and Freezer. Also 2x ovens.... Gotto have a proving function and not too bothered with self cleaning. Prob going to go for the slide n hide. As well as that, there is a dishwasher to source as well.

All of the above vary considerably in price and if money were no object, I'd just get Miele and be done. However, the money tree is not growing round here so have to be more thoughtful in my choice. I've had a look online and other than wanting a quiet dishwasher (it is a kitchen diner where we spend most of our time), I am not too bothered - best value rather than cheapest is where I am trying to land.

Dishwasher - they vary from Hoover HD1 ILO388A (£259 - cheap) to Whirlpool WI030430DLS (£551 - only 43Db) to Miele G7150 (£1,149 - quality)
I'm not looking for a 'replace when broken' type as that is just going to cause grief - so anyone have any experience on what to get?

Same applies for Fridge and Freezer - noise not SO much of an issue, but do not want one that is noisy.
Obviously there are comparisons and 'best fridge 2020' over the net, but I have little faith in these reviews,

Might as well throw in that we need to sort out extraction for a 75cm gas hob as well - this I most definitely will be looking for a quiet version as the canopy one that we have at the moment does my nut in!

Already eliminating kettle noise by going for a boiling tap!

We have a Neff dishwasher, nice and quiet, has a fancy light on the floor to show time remaining, we like it.
I wrote down 5 dishwashers after having searched online and the NEFF S511A50XIG was highly rated on John Lewis and at the more affordable end (£399).

Thanks!!

Just had our kitchen done, the kitchen supplier (local store) gave us a quote for supplying all the fitted appliances we'd chosen (all NEFF) at way better pricing than i could find on-line anywhere. Oh, and the Dishwasher was free! Don't dismiss the kitchen supplier out of hand assuming they will charge you more, you might be surprised. Another bonus is that the supplier matched all the appliances to the cabinets too so no nasty surprises when I came to fit them. All the appliances are really quiet too with the exception of the hob extractor, which is very effective, nothing escapes it, but very noisy on max speed. I guess if it's quiet it won't shift the steam and smoke.

Good to know.
I'm not dismissing it, but my ehinking is if I pick items that will fit (no irregular sizes in the kitchen), then I can compare to what they suggest.
If there is little difference in price / quality then I will leave it with them to source and install. But I need to know what the sum is for items that I would consider 'best for purpose'.
